The A4 is a major west-east connection in middle Germany. It consists of two parts, which are connect via the A5 and the A45 (Germany). The shorter western part becomes the A3 in Belgium to Liege, whereas the eastern part continues in Poland as A4 to Wrocław
- The Rodenkirchen Bridge (km 40-48)
You may notice that in the infobox, the beginning of the east segment and the end of the west segment have the same milage marker. This is because the section of road in between is not part of the A4.
Taking the most direct route from the end of the west segment and the beginning of the east segment and counting the kilometers in between, the marker for the beginning of the east segment is 302 km (187 mi). The full length including the distance between the segments is 740 km (459 mi).
